About the Role
Joining our Ashburn team as a direct report to the VP of Finance,the Staff Accountant will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our financial records and managing the organization’s assets, liabilities, and broader fiscal operations. You will work in lockstep with the Finance department, leveraging your commitment to mastering industry-specific nuances and your drive for professional development alongside a seasoned team. Your background highlights a proven ability to bridge the gap between internal departments and external stakeholders, ensuring that all financial objectives are met with precision and collaborative efficiency.

Compensation: $65-75k+
Staff Accountant Requirements/Competencies:
Education & Experience: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, supplemented by 2–3 years of hands-on experience in AP and vendor payment management.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in large-scale ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and Microsoft Office, featuring advanced Excel capabilities such as data imports and database management.
Accounting Knowledge: Strong grasp of general and cost accounting, GAAP compliance, and the ability to accurately prepare sales tax reports.
Professional Skills: Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, time-management, and communication skills, alongside the ability to work independently.
Preferred Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and/or German is an advantage but not required.
Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & Workflow: Manage the full AP lifecycle, including the timely coding, entry, and approval of vendor invoices, ensuring all accounting data and vendor numbers are accurate.
Payment Execution: Process routine and monthly vendor payments accurately across various platforms, including the creation of payment files and handling inter-company/bank activities.
Vendor & Account Reconciliation: Reconcile vendor statements and prepaid expense accounts via journal entries to ensure all balances and payment statuses remain precise.
Communication & Collections: Act as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries and proactively manage customer collections, providing management with weekly updates on past-due accounts.
Compliance & Documentation: Maintain proper tax documentation for all active projects to ensure organizational compliance.
