About the Role
We are looking for a Product Manager – Hardware to serve as the definitive "Voice of the U.S. Market" within our global organization. In this role, you will bridge the gap between U.S. customer needs and our German R&D teams, translating domestic regulatory and market requirements into clear hardware roadmaps. You are a technically grounded professional with a deep understanding of electrical power systems and hardware lifecycles, and you are equally comfortable discussing specifications with engineers as you are discussing strategy with leadership. By balancing technical depth with commercial awareness, you will ensure our global products are field-ready and optimized for business impact in the American market.
Location: Remote with 25% travel (East coast preferred) Schedule: Standard Compensation: $120- 160k+ bonus Product Manager – Hardware Requirements/Competencies:
Education & Expertise: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering (or related field) with a deep understanding of electrical power distribution and monitoring.
Product Lifecycle: Proven experience managing hardware from concept through support, including translating technical needs into structured documentation.
Collaboration: Strong communication skills to lead cross-functional and international teams (Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing).
Customer Insight: Ability to gather, interpret, and prioritize real-world requirements through direct customer engagement and analytical problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications:
Domain Knowledge: Specialized experience in power quality, protection, or automation, particularly within data centers or industrial facilities.
Strategic Leadership: Prior experience as a Hardware PM/TPO with the ability to balance immediate customer needs against long-term product strategy.
Global Standards: Familiarity with U.S. electrical standards/certifications and experience working within multinational engineering environments.
Product Manager – Hardware Responsibilities:
U.S. Product Ownership: Serve as the primary U.S. Product Owner, representing market needs to German PM/R&D teams and collaborating on global roadmaps, feature prioritization, and release planning.
Requirements Management: Gather, analyze, and prioritize requirements from customers, sales, and engineering; translate these into clear feature definitions, use cases, and technical requirements.
Compliance & Localization: Ensure all products meet U.S. standards, including electrical codes, certifications (UL, CSA, FCC), installation practices, and specific data center/industrial application needs.
Go-to-Market & Support: Drive U.S. New Product Introductions (NPI) through internal enablement and technical positioning; partner with Sales, Solutions, and Support teams on complex applications.
Strategy & Lifecycle: Monitor competitive trends to inform strategy and manage the full product lifecycle, including updates, variants, and end-of-life (EOL) planning.
Engagement & Travel: Participate in direct customer meetings for feedback validation and travel up to 25% (domestic and international/Europe) to align with global teams and key clients.
