About the Role

Seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Generalist to join and support our growing team. This role is the vital link between our corporate strategic goals and our frontline operational workforce. You will manage the day-to-day HR functions for a technically skilled employee base, ensuring that our talent acquisition, employee relations, and compliance programs support a high-output, safety-conscious environment.


Location: Northern Virginia

Schedule: Mon – Fri, Standard Business Hours (Hybrid for the right candidate)

Compensation: $75-80k +


HR Generalist Responsibilities:


1. Specialized Talent Acquisition

  • Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to streamline the selection process for skilled trades, technicians, and engineers.

  • Own the "Final Mile". Lead the transition from "candidate" to "employee" by facilitating high-impact onboarding and culture integration.

2. Employee Relations & Industrial Culture

  • Act as the primary HR point of contact for both office-based professional staff and field/floor operational teams.

  • Provide coaching to supervisors on performance management, conflict resolution, and employee engagement.

  • Support a culture where employees feel empowered to report safety or operational concerns.

3. Regulatory Compliance & Safety

  • Maintain 100% compliance with federal and state labor laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA) and industry-specific mandates (e.g., OSHA, NERC, or ISO standards).

  • Assist with internal audits, workforce reporting, and the maintenance of confidential personnel files.

  • Partner with Safety/EHS managers to coordinate required training and workers' compensation documentation.

4. HR Operations & Systems

  • Administer local benefits, leave of absence programs, and payroll data entry.

  • Utilize HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, ADP, or UKG) to provide data-driven insights on turnover, headcount, and time-to-hire.



HR Generalist Qualifications & Skills:


  • Experience: 2–4 years of HR experience (ideally in an industrial, manufacturing, utility, or construction environment)

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Certifications: SHRM-CP or PHR is highly preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and mid-to-large scale HRIS software, SAP a plus.

  • Critical Evaluation: Utilizing data-driven insights rather than intuition to make decisions on hiring, turnover, and performance.
