About the Role

Reporting to the Solutions Team Lead, the Applications Engineer plays a pivotal role in the end-to-end delivery of power metering solutions. You will be responsible for translating complex client requirements into functional systems by supporting the testing, configuration, and deployment of specialized technical solutions. As a key technical resource, you will provide expert support throughout the project lifecycle to ensure seamless integration and long-term operational success for our clients. Location: Ashburn, VA (hybrid) Schedule: Standard Compensation: $110-150k + Applications Engineer Requirements/Competencies:

  • Education: Master’s/Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (or related field) or a PE license.

  • Power Systems Expertise: Experienced in design, estimation, operation, and commissioning of substations, switchgear, ATP/ATS, emergency power, and control systems.

  • Distribution & Monitoring: Skilled in LV/MV distribution, AC/DC systems, power monitoring, electrical protection, and SCADA/power management.

  • Specialized Environments: Proven experience with medium voltage systems, Nuclear Power Systems, and data center equipment (generators, transformers, etc.).

  • Industry Experience: Background in electrical or applications engineering, specifically within the power management sector.

  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of electrical systems, data acquisition, and energy management solutions.

  • Design & Software: Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical and/or SolidWorks; able to interpret blueprints and technical specs.

  • Programming: Familiarity with industry-standard programming languages and engineering software tools.

  • Soft Skills: Strong communicator and professional collaborator with a customer-oriented, problem-solving mindset.



Applications Engineer Responsibilities:


  • Sales Support: Partner with sales teams on customer needs and end-to-end technical support.

  • Demos & Training: Deliver product demonstrations and training to customers and sales staff.

  • Documentation: Prepare and review configurations, specifications, and functional requirements.

  • Solution Design: Help design and implement power management integrations for client operations.

  • Field Feedback: Provide product development teams with practical, field-based product insights.

  • Troubleshooting: Resolve complex technical issues regarding products and systems.

  • Compliance: Ensure all projects meet company and industry standards.

  • Tech Awareness: Track emerging technologies for potential integration into the product suite.

  • Project Management: Manage multiple deadlines through cross-departmental coordination.
